Call of the Crown I

”The Call of the Crown I” was a Warhammer Fantasy painting challenge run by Jesse Callaghan and hosted by Joshua van Z at the Crown of Command podcast. This page details my endeavours during the first edition of the challenge (2020-2021).

Chaos Dwarfs Starting Point

I’m entering a small 1000 point 4th edition Chaos Dwarf army for the CotC painting challenge. It’s not a competitive army at all, but rather based on the models I have available. I’ve been collecting Chaos Dwarfs for a few years, and this challenge was the perfect excuse to finally start painting them.

Month 1 (September)

This is my finished September pledge for my Chaos Dwarf army: A Chaos Dwarf General in heavy armour (163 points) and a unit of ten Hobgoblin Archers (55 points). The total points is 218.

Month 2 (October)

This is my finished October pledge for my Chaos Dwarf army: A unit of nine Chaos Dwarf Blunderbusses (126 points) and a unit of five Hobgoblin Wolf Riders (84 points). The total points is 210.

Month 3 (November)

My finished Call of the Crown pledge for November: ”The Chosen of Hashut”, a unit of five Chaos Dwarf Bull Centaurs for 205 points.

Month 4 (December)

My finished December pledge for Call of the Crown: A Chaos Dwarf Sorcerer and an Earthshaker Cannon coming in at 199 points.

Month 5 (January)

January entry for Call of the Crown: 10 Chaos Dwarf Warriors for 168 points.

I joined the second half of the Call of the Crown I with this low model count 1000 point Orc army.

Month 6 (March)

Three Stone Trolls for 195 points.

Month 7 (April)

Another three Stone Trolls for 195 points.

Month 8 (May)

Orc Warboss on a boar and 16 Orc Big 'Uns.

Month 9 (June)

I painted up the classic Marauder Giant for June. My Greenskins are primarily clad in black, red and off-white so my idea was to keep to these colours.

Month 10 (July)

Six Orc Boar Boyz for July.
